Bengaluru, Mar 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Karnataka on April 5 to launch several special programmes in the State, while Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will be arriving on April 1 for launching many programmes in the State, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, he said Amit Shah will be launching the 'Ksheera Abhivriddhi Bank' and Yeshaswini programme during his visit as part of the Union Government’s goal of bringing in major reforms in the cooperative sector.
The Chief Minister said that he would be visiting Delhi for discussions with the party top brass to discuss the Cabinet expansion. "I am waiting to get a call from the party high command, he said.
Bommai said Amit Shah’s visit to the State would give a give boost to the State’s cooperative and dairy sectors and mentioned that a massive convention has been planned to mark the occasion.
For the first time in the State, the State Government has constituted a high-level committee headed by the State’s Chief Secretary to take concrete measures and prepare a time-bound action plan to implement the programmes announced in the Budget, Bommai said.
The committee would ensure issuing work orders for various programmes and projects with coordination between various departments and consent of the Finance Department. It would oversee the complete implementation of the Budget. The committee has been constituted to ensure speedy implementation of Budget programmes and get immediate clearances for the projects.
Instructions have already been issued to all the departments for speedy implementation of all the projects announced in the budget, the Chief Minister said.
He said the State Government is going ahead with all preparations for hosting the Global Investors Meet in November this year under the Chairmanship of Industries Minister Muruguesh R Nirani.
With Karnataka emerging as the number 1 State in the entire country in attracting foreign direct investment, the proposed Global Investors Meet is expected to give a further fillip and attract larger investments, he said pointing out that domestic as well as foreign investors have immense faith in the robust investment culture and the facilities available in the State.
The Chief Minister later launched a series of programmes in Shiggaon taluk and other places in the district.
