I am working as Professor in Anesthesiology at Manipal College of Medical Sciences at POKHARA in Nepal for the last three years. The college and the teaching hospital are serving the people of Nepal extremely well and that too at a very very low price at times even free to the poor. It is all inspired by the noble personality of Dr Pai who has been honoured by GOI recently. In fact, such great souls deserve the highest decoration so that more and more people should take up the cause of medical education and research to mitigate the sufferings of the people of our subcontinent. May God bless Dr Pai and his large Manipal family of which I am just an insignificant member.

Congrats Dr.Pai. The historical and prominent rise of Manipal in particular and Udupi in general is solely due to the far sighted vision of the Pai family. Starting with the late Dr. TMA Pai and now his son Dr. Ramdas Pai the records are there to be seen. An unheard and unknown place some time ago, Manipal is a modern city in every sense of the word today bustling with hectic activity. Yet another Pai, TA Pai too stamped his class during his time. As I said before, the contribution of the Pai stronghold is mammoth and really laudable. People like Dr. Ramdas Pai and his late father are special because such noble people come very rarely in this world. And when they are here you can be sure that they do their deeds for which they have been specially sent by the creator. Long live Dr. Ramdas Pai and congrats again on the Padma Bhushan award. DENZIL FERNANDES, DUBAI.

Congratulations! Like thousands of his admirers, I am absolutely delighted. He truly deserves the award. Go around Manipal and Udupi to begin with and take a look. Direct and indirect jobs created have transformed the landscape of the region. Providing world class educational facilities and health care benefits to the citizens is a challenge even in developed nations and here we have one man and his team creating magic. We need more visionaries like him. Here is best wishes to our dear ‘Pai mam’. Look forward to many more laurels.
