Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 27:Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, March 27, reported one coronavirus case while Udupi registered nil case.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,481 out of which 8 are currently active.

No patient was discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,04,480 as fine in 96,200 mincidents of mask violation.

Udupi

No case was reported on Sunday. The total active Covid cases have risen to nine. No patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

Udupi taluk reported 0 case, Kundapura 0 and 0 case in Karkala.

A total of 10,69,337 people have received first dose of vaccination and 1019225 have received both doses and 52,555 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
