Bengaluru, Mar 29: State JD(S) President and former Chief Minister has alleged that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has become a ‘’tool’’ under the control of some organisations, which have been spreading divisive post and poison in the social media against minority Muslim community.

Speaking to reporters near Vidhana Soudha while coming out of the State Assembly session, the JS(S) leader alleged that Bommai has become completely incapable of controlling the leaders and organisations spreading provocative messages in the social media against the Muslim traders.

``If the Chief Minister has any guts, let him mercilessly deal with the anti-social elements spreading the provocative messages in the social media,’’ Kumaraswamy demanded.

He said the State Government cannot remain silent against anti-social elements.

``The Chief Minister or the Home Minister do not belong to any one community but should represent the entire State and its six crore people,’’ Kumaraswamy attacking the Bommai government for its failure to control the situation.

The State JD(S) Chief said that he was distressed to see whatsapp messages spreading venom against Muslim traders and urged the government to not only deal with those responsible but also tackle the leaders, including legislators or ministers. ``It is these anti-social elements who are tarnishing the name and image of Karnataka and its people,’’ he said.

Kumaraswamy alleged that the provocative messages in the social media have listed as many as 23 trades such fruit vendors, hotels, hardware, travel, petty shops, travel booking and even medical professionals as among the trades done by Muslim community should be boycotted. These messages urge people to patronize only trades and professions run by Hindus, he said pointing out that that would eventually spell doom and ruin the State.

The JD(S) leader took the opportunity to attack the Congress party and blamed it for such a situation and for being responsible for the emergence of BJP government.

Terming the BJP rule in the State as ``totally illegal and immoral, Kumaraswamy said the BJP was responsible for the rise in communal trouble in the State and cited the example of the Idgah Maidan controversy in Hubballi and the loss of innocent people.

Kumaraswamy said he was appealing to the Hindu youth and people not to fall prey to the communal designs of BJP and lashed out at Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri for organizing a discussion on electoral reforms when Karnataka was burning in the communal cauldron. ``We should bow our head in shame and try to set right the situation before it is too late,’’ he warned.

I totally agree with what Kumaraswamy says. The present Chief Minister is virtually a pawn in the hands of anti social elements and is under the beck and call of those who are spreading hatred in the society. As a person, he may be gentle and kind but it is very clear that he is controlled by those whose intentions and actions will ultimately ruin the state.
