Beltangady: Missing civic worker’s decomposed body found

Beltangady, Apr 2: The mortal remains of civic worker, who was missing since January is found in decomposed state on government grounds in the town.

The deceased is identified as Linga Shetty (43), native of K R Nagar of Mysuru district, who was residing in Beltangady.

Linga was living with his family in a rented house in the town. He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter. Some months ago, he reportedly fell in love with a young girl. This matter came to the knowledge of his family members. It is said that he tried to end his life and was admitted to hospital. After recovery, he returned home. However, within few days he went missing.

Neither the town panchayat nor the family of Linga Shetty registered any complaint of his missing. Clothes, ID card, footwear and money was found in the place where is body was found.

Beltangady police are investigating further.
