I have been to the Malpe Beach, once or twice, and had an occasion to experience the swim and the sea water about 10 years ago, which has been quite enjoyable. The beach was (and still I believe) clean and unpolluted, and it was quite safe even for a novice swimmer. Good to see the people enjoying the beach festival, as the accompanying pictures reveal. Nice work, Hemanath Padubidri.

Udupi Municipal Council should be commended for coming up with some excellent ideas like the Udupi Utsav, Beach Utsav and continuing with non stop development work. From all accounts Udupi and Beach Utsav have been runaway success. No wonder it is receiving the Best Municipal body award from the Chief Minister. If I recall, it has been the progressive municipal council since the time Mr. VS Acharya was the Council President way back in 60s or 70s and the tradition of excellent urban planning and infrastructure development seems to be continuing...in much capable and younger members of the council. Please continue doing the good work...you are a model of development and a beacon of hope...!
