Mangaluru: Fuel price rise not because of Centre, UPA govt's wrong policy – DVS

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Apr 3: Former CM D V Sadananda Gowda said that the union government does not have any role in the continuous hike in fuel prices in the country.

Speaking to reporters at Puttur on Saturday, Gowda said, “The price of fuel has increased due to the wrong policies of the former UPA government. Oil companies are fixing the price themselves due to the mis-governance of the former UPA government.

“The war between Russia and Ukraine is also one of the reasons for the rising fuel price. Companies that import fuel from Russia also faced setbacks because of the war. So the prices are rising", he explained.

“Union government is trying to bring the rising fuel price under control and within a few days it will resolve the issue.”

Responding to the accusation of former CM H D Kumaraswamy that Halal and Jhatka cut controversy is the plot hatched by BJP, Gowda said, “Accusing others is the only work that former CM Kumaraswamy does. Earlier, he used to accuse Siddaramaiah, DKS and Mallikarjun Kharge. Now he speaks against BJP. JD (S) is a closed chapter in Karnataka. People of the state are following the developments in that party. Kumaraswamy has lost his balance and that is why he is giving these kinds of statements. BJP will not react to such allegations.”

Instead of making halal, hijab, etc, do some developmental work. Make the tax payer’s life easier. Don’t put blame on oppositions. If you can’t manage and then give up. UPA was secular, democratic and ruling as per the constitution so, can you also continue to do the same way?. How many press conferences did you hold like UPA to express your mind to people?. While you can pass new bills, laws and ordinances unanimously overnight without even your own allies and opposition aware of it in unofficial way then what is so difficult for you about rising fuel prices. In fact when UPA was ruling fuel prices were much lower and whenever there was hike in fuel prices UPA used to cut taxes to check the rise in fuel prices in order to maintain same low prices throughout.

Before making statements, please check the tax component on fuel. Also see the fuel prices in a bankrupt country like Srilanka: "Due to the ongoing international crisis, fuel prices are going up all over the world. Now, the Lanka Indian Oil Company (Sri Lankan subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation) has hiked the retail prices in Sri Lanka. This increase comes at a time when the neighbouring country is also in the middle of an economic crisis. While the Diesel prices have been raised by Rs 75 per litre (INR 20.94 per litre), the petrol rates are up by Rs 50 per litre (INR 13.98 per litre). Currently, petrol and diesel cost up to Rs 254 per litre (INR 71.4 per litre) and Rs 214 per litre (INR 59.74 per litre) in Sri Lanka, respectively. All this means that in spite of the huge hike, fuel is still cheaper in Sri Lanka than India.

Yes, all blunders are done by Congress and Nehruji families, we agree Gowda Ray. But why can't Modiji is not doing any thing to set it right. Spending our tax paid money on Patel statue, cores of rupees on luxury Airplanes for top two, what's the use of new Parliament building?, more than the income daily new dresses, next may be demolishing Rastrapati building and construction of new one. Instead of that simply blaming and wasted 7 years.

Who was telling if Modi comes to power 1 rupee = 1 dollar??? Now all dead. Forget about HDK and he is following your footsteps as you guys always blame Congress or Nehru for everything. But you are big ZERO compared to all governments. In 7 years you were successful in creating rift within the society for vote bank. That is your only achievement.
