Mangaluru, Apr 3: Former CM D V Sadananda Gowda said that the union government does not have any role in the continuous hike in fuel prices in the country.
Speaking to reporters at Puttur on Saturday, Gowda said, “The price of fuel has increased due to the wrong policies of the former UPA government. Oil companies are fixing the price themselves due to the mis-governance of the former UPA government.
“The war between Russia and Ukraine is also one of the reasons for the rising fuel price. Companies that import fuel from Russia also faced setbacks because of the war. So the prices are rising", he explained.
“Union government is trying to bring the rising fuel price under control and within a few days it will resolve the issue.”
Responding to the accusation of former CM H D Kumaraswamy that Halal and Jhatka cut controversy is the plot hatched by BJP, Gowda said, “Accusing others is the only work that former CM Kumaraswamy does. Earlier, he used to accuse Siddaramaiah, DKS and Mallikarjun Kharge. Now he speaks against BJP. JD (S) is a closed chapter in Karnataka. People of the state are following the developments in that party. Kumaraswamy has lost his balance and that is why he is giving these kinds of statements. BJP will not react to such allegations.”
