Bahrain: Exhilarating Dances Light up Kannada Sangha’s Annual Day Function

Bahrain, Jan 31: Kannada Sangha Bahrain organized its 33rd annual day function at Baang Sang Thai auditorium here on Friday January 28, 2011 at 11.00 am.

Ramesh Ramachandran, general secretary of the Sangha, extended a hearty welcome to the members and their families. Prayer song rendered by Kiran Upadhyay, entertainment secretary, provided an auspicious beginning for the annual day function.

Sangha’s members and children then joined together to sing a patriotic song and performed patriotic dance, following which, the prize distribution ceremony in respect of indoor and outdoor games and sports, was held. A spectacular dance comprising 40 children, which was presented thereafter, was well-appreciated by the audience. This number was choreographed by Hansul Ghani.

















































Dance performances by Sandhya Pai group and Saeed group were also came in for lavish praise of the gathering.

Raj Kumar, president of the organization, thanked all the members and their families for their unstinted support to the Sangha’s activities during the year. He appreciated them especially for the grand success of ‘Kannada Vaibhava’ annual programme held in the month of December.

After the dances, songs dedicated to Bharat Ratna, the late Pandit Bhim Sen Joshi’s memory, were rendered.

Around 350 members were present. Baang Sang Thai had arranged buffet for all the invitees.

Kiran Upadhyay proposed vote of thanks.
