Mangalore: St Lawrence Church, Bondel Celebrates Parish Day with Zest

Mangalore, Jan 31: St Lawrence Church, Bondel here celebrated the Parish day with zest and merriment on Sunday January 30.
The Parish Day commenced with the Eucharistic celebration by parish priest Fr Antony Serrao , assistant parish priest Fr Ronald Pinto, Fr Geroge D’Souza along with the vice president Rudolf Pinto and secretary Reginald D’Souza.
The newly formed parish council took an oath during the mass. After the mass a short programme was held in the church hall. As a part of Parish Day, various competitions like singing, dancing, fancy dress and son on were conducted in the church. The winners of the contests were honoured on the occasion. The programme was concluded by the festal meals.
There were around 2,000 thousand people for the lunch, which was prepared by the parishioners. On the eve of the parish day, on Saturday evening as many as 250 people gathered for the preparation lunch for the feast.
Cultural programmes were held in the evening with blend of songs, dance, jokes presented by the parishioners themselves. Fr Edwin Corea , Nirkan parish priest was the chief guest. Parish priest Fr Antony Serrao , Fr Ronald Pinto, assistant parish priest, vice president Rudolf Pinto and secretary Reginald D’Souza were present on the dais.
