Kundapur: Man setting up pandal dies as pole falls on his neck

Kundapur, Apr 5: A man died when a pole made from arecanut tree, which he was fixing in order to raise a pandal for a pooja programme, fell on his neck.

This tragic incident occurred at Anagallibailu of Hosangadi village in the taluk.

Ramachandra Bhandarkar (58), is the unfortunate victim of this mishap. He was erecting a pandal for religious programme at Anagallibailu on Monday April 4. Suddenly, the pole made of arecanut tree slipped. Ramachandra tried to hold the pole from falling but fell down as he jolted.

The pole fell on his neck injuring him severely. Though he was rushed to Siddapur government hospital immediately, doctors declared him brought dead.

A case in this connection is registered in Amasebailu police station.
