Udupi, Apr 9: “In Kaup legislative constituency, SDPI and BJP made an alliance and submitted nomination together. Hijab is the result of their political love,” said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake criticizing Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP and union minister Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday April 9.

Sorake further said, “When there are issues in Udupi, Shobha disappears. This time around the Shivamogga murder of BJP worker has made her to visit Udupi. Udaya Ganiga was murdered in our district at Yedamoge. A BJP panchayat member is the accused. Vice president of district BJP is the second accused. But neither Shobha nor any MLA visit the district.

“Praveen Poojary was murdered. A double murder took place in Kota. Zilla panchayat member of BJP is the first accused in this case. When their own party members kill others, there is no compensation. They do not utter a word about the incident. There is no law in such cases. On the contrary attempt is made to cover the case.

“Murder like Harsha in Shivamogga should not recur. Why Shobha is not bothered about the killing of her own party cadre in her constituency? Let the victim too get Rs 25 lac compensation,” he said.

Responding to the statement of Shobha asking to get former chief minister Siddaramaiah to NIMHANS, Sorake said, “Siddaramaiah has presented budget in the state for record 13 times. Under him, Congress has ruled the state for five years successfully. Now he has developed into a secular power in the state. The present BJP government is trying to shut the mouths of people who raise their voices against the wrong doings of the government. What qualification and capability people like C T Ravi, Araga Jnanendra and Shobha Karandlaje have?

“Let the people of Udupi subject Shobha to narco analysis test. The result will be useful for next elections. It seems she has lost mental balance. This kind of discrimination should be avoided,” he said.
