Raja's Arrest to Fool People: Jayalalithaa

Chennai, Feb 3 (IANS) AIADMK chief J. Jayalalithaa Thursday reiterated her charge that the arrest of DMK leader and former communications minister A. Raja was meant to fool people.

"The arrest by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) is to hoodwink the people and to make the Supreme Court think that action is being taken in the spectrum case," Jayalalithaa said here.

Raja, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and personal secretary R.K. Chandolia were arrested Wednesday for their alleged role in the controversial allocation of airwaves for second generation (2G) telecom services.

Raja quit Nov 14 after the comptroller and auditor general (CAG) indicted him for the scam, which caused huge losses to the exchequer.

The AIADMK leader reiterated her demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the allocation of spectrum to telecom companies.

A corrupt politician like Jayalaitha has no moral right to make an comment like this or demand for JPC investigation. She has hardly have any MP in Lokasabha.JPC is for what? She is towing the line of BJP for an JPC investigation.Corporate Bigwigs like Tata,Ambanis should be quizzed and 'TRI' big wigs also brought to the fore for the 2G spetrum scandal.
