Mangaluru: Debt-ridden youth Kandrik Lawrence D'Souza kills self in Mallamaru beach

Mangaluru, Apr 11: A 20-year-old young man killed himself by drowning in Surathkal poice station limits on Monday, April 11.

The deceased youth is Kandrik Lawrence D'Souza, son of 65-year-old Karnel D'Souza, a resident of Katipalla in Surathkal.

According to the police, deceased Kandrik has also left behind a death note stating that he was taking the extreme step since he was mired in debts from his friends and was unable to repay them. It is also reported that Kandrik was an alcoholic too.

On Monday, Kandrik applied for leave from is work and left home at about 11:30 AM. His mother got to know of his extreme step after she came across the death note at home. Later, an intense search was conducted all over.

At 3PM, the Surathkal police fished out the body of a youth from the sea in Mallamaru beach. The body was identified as that of Kandrik,

The victim is survived by an elder brother and a younger sister.

    Its not the debt that killed him but the alcohol. Sincere advise to all Catholic parents keep your children away from Alcohol. At weddings and parties it starts with a beer and when your children grow older it ends with the hard drinks.....not a good way to bring up children. Think about it.

    Just in his 20's alcoholic!!! My God It is true devil has targeted youngsters. Lucifer was one of the beautiful angels from heaven before he was thrown down.before he occupied the highest position of angels in heaven. Now his place was given to mother Mary. He became angry with mother Mary and challenged I will draw most of the people to my side That's why sin is rapidly spreading every where. That's why youngsters please say no to sinful habits. Sin may be glamourized sin may be legalized sin may be globalized sin may be universalised but sin is a sin in the eyes of God Anyway we can say only RIP

    due to high inflation and financial difficulty, people are forced to take loan..some people who have self respect kill themselves than roaming on street without paying the borrowed money..RIP to the young man...you should have waited at least till 2024 when non-blue jp govt would have come to power...anyway rest in peace

    Cant believe .A 20years old boy is in debt,?and noone knew about his situation ,?self own parents or friends ?thats why extrem step?My God there is a way out always when it starts burn but only take some help from good friends or church /temple heads to comeout of it ,.Dont give off everything and jump off of your life.Then no more solution.Now his parents have to burden it.Pity parents .Heartfelt sympathies to them.Also drinking alcohol must have made him extreme sick?May his soul rest in peace.Why didnt his friends also didnt help in his agony or sickness ?Very tragic .

    Sad indeed. May his soul rest in peace. Dear Kandriks friends, You could have saved your friend by not lending him money. When you all know he is wasting money on drinks and may be some other habits all of you stopped giving him money till he gives back what ever he has taken earlier. Ofcourse one can be saved by lending money in emergencies but when something is going wrong stop giving also saves. Now what you all got? May be your good friend is gone for ever alongwith money he owed you all.
