Mangaluru, Apr 11: A 20-year-old young man killed himself by drowning in Surathkal poice station limits on Monday, April 11.
The deceased youth is Kandrik Lawrence D'Souza, son of 65-year-old Karnel D'Souza, a resident of Katipalla in Surathkal.
According to the police, deceased Kandrik has also left behind a death note stating that he was taking the extreme step since he was mired in debts from his friends and was unable to repay them. It is also reported that Kandrik was an alcoholic too.
On Monday, Kandrik applied for leave from is work and left home at about 11:30 AM. His mother got to know of his extreme step after she came across the death note at home. Later, an intense search was conducted all over.
At 3PM, the Surathkal police fished out the body of a youth from the sea in Mallamaru beach. The body was identified as that of Kandrik,
The victim is survived by an elder brother and a younger sister.
