Bengaluru: State BJP padayatra from April 12, Yediyurappa's separate tour not permitted

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Apr 12: BJP will begin its preparations for the next assembly election from April 12 by holding state level tour with three teams in three phases.

State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, state BJP in-charge Arun Singh and chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai will lead three teams. Former CM B S Yediyurappa is made just as a member of Arun Singh’s team. This has caused some confusion among the BJP cadre in the state.

The teams will visit Mysuru region on April 12 and 13, Ballari region on April 19 and 20, Dharwad region on April 21 and 22 and Bengaluru city on April 23 and 24.

Yediyurappa was saying often that he will take state wide tour to ensure that the BJP gets 150 seats in the next assembly elections. However, now the BJP high command has not allowed to make separate tour and did not even make him leader of any team. This has caused resentment among his followers in the party.

The team led by Arun Singh consists of former CM Yediyurappa, ministers Govinda Karajol, R Ashok, C T Ravi, Malikaiah Guttedar, N Shankarappa and M B Nandish.

CM Bommai’s team includes D V Sadananda Gowda, Prahlad Joshi, Dr Ashwathnarayana, B Sriramulu, Nirmalkumar Surana, B Y Vijayendra, Laxman Savadi and Nayana Ganesh.

Another team will be led by state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

The teams will convey to the public the achievements of union and state BJP governments and pro-people schemes that are announced in the budget at village and local level.
