Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 12: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, April 12, reported nil new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered zero cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,495 out of which 6 are currently active.

 The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,480 as fine in 96,208 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

No corona cases were reported on April 12, there are zero active Covid cases in the district. One patient was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.

A total of 10,81,469 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,25,515 have received both doses and 59,308 people have received a booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
