Kuwait: SWAK Celebrates Annual Feast with Gusto

Kuwait, Feb 5: Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK) under the presidentship of Urban D’Souza celebrated the patron feast (Vodlen fest) at the Indian Community Girls’ School auditorium, Salmiya here.

The programme commenced with the self introduction of Jaison Lasrado, the host of the programme. It was followed by a prayer dance by Ocean Kids group - Brayan, Shaina, Crystel and Allan. 

President Urban D’Souza officially welcomed the entire guests and thanked all the members for their support.  Alwyn D’Souza read out the annual report highlighting the achievements of SWAK.


















































 

Entertainment
 
The Konkani and Hindi song sung by SWAK members’ kids Ralph Serrao, Ashely  Correa, Ashwin Correa (Key board play), Alister Gomes and Alston Gomes (Key board play) mesmerized the audience.

Foot tapping dances were performed by Sweedal  Mathias, Irel Martis, Ines Martis, Megna D’Souza, Aral D'Souza,Calvin Furtado,Gavin Mendonca, Anusha , Alisha Gomes, Danica Princia Dsouza, Makita Mendonca, Carole D’Souza, Astrel Menezes, Sweedal Mathias,Sweeny Mathias, Sheldon D’Souza, Calita D'Souza, Ralph Serrao and Leona and Landril. 

Gulf Voice of Mangalore winner Gladys Lorena and runner- up Warren D’Souza’s Konkany songs ‘Lak neketram’ and ‘Mog tujo kitlo Ashelom’ were the special attractions of the day.  Music Maestro Adrian Gomes provided the music for the same. 

Also there were rib tickling jokes enacted by Anil and Renny Menezes   

Felicitations

During the felicitation session, Fr Melwyn D’Cunha was the chief guest who also delivered the feast message.  The entire committee member along with Fr Melwyn cut the cake to symbolically start the feast.  Kuwait’s popular social worker Archie Menezes was felicitated by Fr Melwyn D’Cunha.  Gulf Voice of Mangalore Winner and Runner up Gladys and Warren were also honoured for their achievement in winning the singing title in Gulf level competition.

Outstanding and meritorious students were honoured by Fr Melwyn.  The sponsors, outstanding members and media personnel were also honoured during the occasion for their contribution towards SWAK.

Fun-filled Games

Various games were conducted to people of all the age- groups. A lot of spot prizes were given during dance sessions.  Lucky dip draw and housie were conducted to keep the excitement alive.  Lucky member and highest lucky dip seller were honoured with prizes. 

Votes of thanks were proposed by Silvia Lobo and Gretta D’Souza offered grace before meal. The well conducted programme came to an end with masala dance session by DJ Kiran and grand buffet dinner by Royal Plaza Catering.  The programme was appreciated by all.

    Very good show, well planned and presented.
    Talented children exhibited their talemts with their great contribution. Hats off to Anil and Renni for their hilarious comedy skits. Not forgetting enchanting music by ADRIAN GOMES.
