Mangalore, Feb 6: A murder conspiracy hatched by associates of underworld don Ravi Poojary was foiled by the District Crime and Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) and Vittal police following four arrests on Sunday February 6.

The arrested are Vishwanath and Raghunath, residents of Kulai in Surathkal, and Mohamamad Ali alias Munna and Riyaz, residents of Uppala in Kasargod.

Police said that the arrested were meeting to exchange a weapon meant for use in the murder of a businessman who had intervened in their extortion racket.

Gangster Ravi Poojary had suggested that Vishwanath and Ragunath hand over a pistol to Munna and Riyaz to kill Chowta, a resident of Uppala.

Chowta had intervened on behalf of a business man in Kasaragod, M G Mohammad, from whom Ravi Poojary had demanded ‘hafta’ amounting to Rs 25 crore.

The police team arrested the four near Mani and seized a 9mm pistol, 10 live bullets, Rs 10,000 in cash, and 9 mobile phones.

People commit crimes for several reasons, but the most common are love, jealousy and money. Drug & alcohol abuse play a huge factor in crimes. Large numbers of people are arrested for crimes they committed while under the influence. Another key factor is upbringing, or the environment in which an individual is raised. If someone sees crime as the only way to survive and his role model does it, chances are good he'll follow suit. To serve in a better way all State Government must implement the policy which is approved by Supreme Court 2006.
The policy tells: Several measures were identified as necessary to professionalize the police in India:
•A mid or high ranking police officer must not be transferred more frequently than every two years.
•The state government cannot ask the police force to hire someone, nor can they choose the Chief Commissioner.
•There must be separate departments & staff for investigation & patrolling.
Three new authorities will be created in each state, to prevent political interference in the police & also to make the police accountable for their heavy-handedness, which will include the creation of:
•A State Security Commission for policies & direction
•A Police Establishment Board, which will decide the ion, promotions & transfers of police officers & other staff
•A Police Complaints Authority, to inquire into allegations of police misconduct.
Due to political influence & corruption by Political leaders our Police department is helpless.

Again our Police force have shown that they are better than Goondas!! High time they give up!! Goondagiri will not last long!! They are paid by the people for the the people and to the people!! There is no place for extortion!! In the future such people will be stoned!!! Politicians need to be careful while supporting criminals for their own votes so that they can last little longer!!
