Bengaluru, Apr 18: A special meeting will be held in Delhi to discuss the Karnataka political situation and the expansion of the State Cabinet, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai indicated in Bengaluru on Monday.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, Bommai said the BJP National President JP Nadda has informed him about the special meeting to be held in Delhi on State Cabinet expansion and other matters.

The party’s Central leaders will take a decision during the meeting to be held in Delhi and he will be asked to come to Delhi after the meeting as per the information given by BJP National President, Bommai said.

There are five vacancies in the Bommai ministry with the latest vacancy caused by the resignation of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa over the suicide of Belagavi based contractor Santhosh K Patil in Udupi recently.

Answering questions on the violent incidents in Hubballi over a social media post, the Chief Minister said all the persons involved in the entire incident have been arrested.

The police will investigate the key persons who have instigated the entire incident and stringent action will be taken as per law, he said.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the irregularities in the PSI examinations has been entrusted to the CID for a thorough investigation. Swift action was taken as soon as the incident came to the notice of Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.

Bommai said a comprehensive probe will be conducted to find out whether the irregularities happened in the examination center or at the level of higher officials.

“Our government is very transparent and efficient. If it was a government by another party, the incident would have been brushed under the carpet and suppressed. We have given a free hand to the CID to investigation and guilty will be punished, whoever may be involved,’’ he declared.

On the demand of students to conduct the examination afresh in view of the irregularities, Bommai said a decision will be taken after getting the CID report.

Frequent cabinet making at the behest of the central cabinet maker is a laughable scenario. Whoever is at the Centre in power will make decisions on who will run the states in which the central party is in power. This makes mockery of the constitutional division of power. If this state of national affairs is continued, it is better to hold simultaneous Central and State elections in a revised election sheet where people in a state vote for the party to rule at the centre and in that state. I wonder what the Supreme Court feels about this whole mess of a constitutional division of powers.

This guy is not even capable of filling couple of vacant posts and he has to ask someone else to do it for him. He runs to Delhi if someone in BJP sneezes. Is he really capable or his job.

No review of development work undertaken by the government. Only agenda is target 150. The administration is at its nadir. Corruption, scams are rampant. The double engine has dealt blow more than double to the state. No escape between extreme secularists and hard core right wing.
