Udupi: One arrested for drug-peddling - Ganja, other items seized

Udupi, Apr 18: Police arrested a man for illegal possession of 240 grams of ganja valued at Rs 10,000 in the market and confiscated one weighing machine, two mobile phones ets and a Suzuki Access scooter from the accused. The total value of the confiscated items is Rs 45,700.

Acting on definite information, Laxmana, ASI of CEN crime police station of the city, arrested accused Abdul Jabbar (24), resident of Santhekatte, Kalarkalabettu village of the district near Ekta Heights building on Nejaru road of Puttur village. He was also trying solicit customers for the ganja.

A case in this connection is registered at the CEN police station here under NDPS Act.

    Ganja is not haram? Udupi is becoming famous for bad reasons. There should be strict action against drug peddlers and main dealers who are spoiling the society. Hope this is not a 40% commission business. Never know...
