Mangaluru: Youth scales mobile tower over unrequited love, threatens to kill self

Mangaluru, Apr 18: In an incident like those in the movies, that occurred at Adyar on the outskirts of the city on Monday April 18, a youth who was distraught that his girlfriend had ditched him, scaled a mobile tower and threatened to kill himself. He did not budge to the repeated requests of fire service personnel and police asking him to come down. At last, the girl with whom he was in love, had to come to the spot and convince him to come down safely.

Sudhir Kanjara, resident of Kodman post, Bantwal is the youth who climbed the Airtel tower that is installed on the RK building at Adyar. He had some altercation with his girlfriend. There is a petition also on the youth in Bantwal rural police station.

After the youth came down from the tower on the arrival and request of his girlfriend, he was arrested by the police and handed over to Bantwal rural police station.
