Doha: ICC remembers Dr BR Ambedkar - Architect of Indian Constitution

Doha, Apr 18: Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) student’s forum remembered contributions of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar, architect of Indian Constitution, celebrating 75 years of Independence, named as 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav', on Thursday, April 14 being his 131st birth anniversary. A social reformer, economist, first Law and Justice minister of independent India and above all was heading the drafting committee of constitution of India

The gathering was welcomed by Shweta Koshti, Head of Cultural ICC, children participated in singing national anthems of Qatar and India followed by a documentary on Dr BR Ambedkar prepared and voice over done by Sameer Moosa.

Chief guest of the evening was Xavier Dhanraj first secretary and coordinating officer in his inspiring speech, relating to Indian Constitution, how Dr Ambedkar goes across all hurdles in life with one weapon, that is his highest focus of academics and educational achievements, spellbound the audience. Xavier proved his point saying Education is supreme to all, which gets its respect at all levels of the society describing his personal experiences.

Aaesha Fathima was anchoring the evening, JP Pavitra welcomed all the guests, and Himani Rao proposed vote of thanks.

The day was with very inspiring speeches by Samridhi Panwar, Varnika Alagappan, Haripriya Billava, Jai Asvin, Ashley Hemant, Yayati Dutta, Jessica Meekadevakumar, Bhavya Jain, Meena Makesh, Sai Thenappan, Shriya Patil, Mohammad Zain, Mahi Shrivastava, Tanishi Thapa, Subodhidhara Raj, Sunandita, Siddhesh Bandache, Afthab Basheer, Himani Rao.

The event was coordinated by head of activity coordinator and education Kamla Thakur. The event was attended by ICC president - PN Babu Rajan, VP - Subramanya Hebbagelu, GS - Krishna Kumar, and other MC members, community leaders, school teachers, parents.
