Udupi: Motorcyclist killed on his birthday in road accident

Udupi, Apr 21: A youth died on the spot after his scooter rammed into the rear end of a bullet tanker which was parked in the middle of the road on the national highway in Hejmady toll gate here on Thursday, April 21.

The deceased is identified as Mahesh of Kodavooru, Malpe.

It is said that the youth met his unfortunate end on his birthday itself.

Police said that his marriage was fixed recently. The accident occured while Mahesh was travelling back home to Malpe from Mangaluru after taking part in a function.

A case has been registered in Padubidri police station.

    May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to his family.I am sure he was tired travelling so far in this hot summer and might have misunderstood his speed ,and couldnt control ?Or Tanker had not put on the back lights of parked?Looks more he had his speed not under control was thinking of reaching home fast.RIP

    Did this happen during the day? How fast was the ungeared two wheeler that he couldn't notice a stationary tanker? Just doesn't add up. Unfortunate
