Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (VA)

Udupi, Feb 9:  The foundation stone was laid to the new church building of Our Lady of Fatima, Prerampalli by Bishop of Mangalore diocese Aloysius Paul D’Souza on February 9.

The Holy Eucharistic mass was held on the occasion with Bishop as the main celebrant.
Fr Romeo Lewis parish Priest, Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fr Richard and Fr Fredrick were the concelebrants.

Bishop in his Homily said that the Church is calm and peaceful place to pray to God. It is a place to praise the Lord and be grateful for his eternal blessings. For all Eucharist celebrations like birth to death of an individual place like church is a must, he added.

Fr Romeo thanked each one for their humble support and prayers and requested for the same in future as well.

The topic is Our Lady of Fatima church, not the Church, you are talking about. If Iam not wrong one is a building and the other is spiritual, or body of associations.

The four traditional "notes of the Christian Church" are unity, holiness, catholicity, and apostolicity.[2] In the phenomenological sense, there are many associations that call themselves Christian churches.

Dear Mr.J.N. Lobo, Mumbai, Do I have to advertise, whether I have I helped build houses for the poor, like you do about the CSF and MD.???

The Church is the Kingdom of God on Earth.
Because she is a reflection of the ideal Kingdom of Heaven, Christ's Church on earth is called the Kingdom of God in the Holy Scriptures. In its regular usage, "kingdom" means a high degree of a society's development, a state with its law-making, legal, utive and all other authorities. A state consists of citizens, government, administration it has laws, customs, language, army and so on. The Church is also a Kingdom, and a peculiar one as she is filled with grace. She consists of people in the process of moral regeneration. Being a Kingdom, she has her Head, the Heavenly King, Lord Jesus Christ and also her own laws, internal structure, ministers (hierarchy), and citizens — faithful Christians. Without these features she would not be a kingdom, but something shapeless and vague. Christians enjoy all privileges of the spiritual Kingdom that they belong, but not merely as consumers but as active "citizens," co-working for the common good.
The Holy Scripture speaks about the Church as a Kingdom of God in a number of places: Matthew 3:2, Matthew 4:17, Matthew 6:10, Matthew 6:33, Matthew 9:35, Matthew 18:3, Mark 10:14-15, Luke 12:32, Luke 17:21, John 3:5, John 18:36, Romans 14:17, 1 Corinthians 4:20, Colossians 1:12-22.

Dear Mr. Felix F. and Mr. John Max, As per the SMS received by me yesterday from the Christian Secular Forum (CSF), the Mangalore Diocese is going to build 250 houses for the poor/homeless people. And that is true. The bulk of the expenses are from the contributions from the middle class community of Mangalore. Can you contribute a little amount from your 'Petro-dollars'/Saudi Riyals for this good cause?
