Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Sunil Kumar distributes laptops to children

Mangaluru, Apr 22: District In-charge minister V Sunil Kumar on Friday, April 22, distributed laptops to children who had lost both their parents due to the coronavirus pandemic at his office in the DC office building here.

As many as six students received laptops from the minister.

Laptops have been provided by the Karnataka Directorate of Child Protection through the District Child Protection Unit.

MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharath Shetty, Umanatha Kotian, Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, ZP CEO Kumar, City Corporation Commissioner Akshay Shridhar, Police Commissioner N Shashikumar, Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonawane and others were also present on the occasion.

Prior to this, the minister also launched a helpline as part of the child protection awareness drive by pasting stickers on autorickshaws.

Helpline numbers are 1098 and the toll free tele counselling number is 14499.

The minister also handed over a key of a new car to the representatives of Indian Red Cross Society, which was donated by the District Crushers Association.

    Still we are in old 80s mindset...i see our ministers are just wasting time on inaugrating toilets,bus stand and flyovers .I see no proper vision with leaders.completely useless and no idea about where we are heading .They have full knowledge on how to gain publicity ,hoew to fool people and divert minds from issues,wat cunning plans to make to create hatred ,disharmony etc..but after coming to power they dont know how to run government....hope they take tuition on that too.

    Please excuse me for saying this. Let us not follow TN model or Delhi model. Let us create an ecosystem wherein people will pay with pride and enjoy it. Economically weak section yes, but making it a general rule for votes, not economically feasible. You can get some votes but will soon bankrupt the state.
