Mangalore, Feb 11:
A devastating fire broke out at Zuese Fitness, a gym center located in the third floor of a multi-storeyed Sudheendra Super Market Building, near PVS Circle on Friday February 11.

As per the sources, the reason for the fire accident is due to a short circuit in the air conditioner. There were no reports of any casualties; as per the official confirmation.

The fire-fighters fought the flames that kept spreading to new areas in other parts of the building and simultaneous efforts were made by the fire brigade which finally stopped more dangerousness.
The roof of the building, some gym equipment among other materials has been completely charred. The remaining things which were partially burnt were shifted to other floors later. Flames were seen leaping out of the roof from the top floors.

Two fire-tenders from Pandeshwar and Kadri were requisitioned to the spot. The area was cordoned off by policemen who had a trying time keeping anxious on-lookers. Quick action of the fire brigade was appreciated by the people.  The fire brigade reached the spot just within 15 minutes of reporting about the accident.

the fire brigade was excellent... by the time i called 108 somebody else had already called and within i think ten minutes the first engine was already there and in action... classifying it as "devastating" is i think a bit too melodramatic...its a lucky escape for the building people...no casualties... could have been worse...hats off to the fire brigade...

This incident shows the apathy of the concerned officials . How in the world a gym was allowed to function with plastic sheets that look so fragile? After such a huge fire @ Trade Center last year we have not learnt our lessons. If not after a couple of instances then when will the concerned take action? The owners will pay some quick bucks, grease the palms of the officials and here they go scotfree. Thats how easy it is in our country. Now the fire officials will have another theory and so on.... The management should thank thier lucky stars it happened at non peak hours. What if it had happened in the morning or evening, at a time when the gym is full? Compromising on quality cost the gym a big price.

We are far behind in protection plan. All buildings should be equiped by SPRIKLERS when there is fire. It will cost but save life and properties.
Short Circuit is the cause but this can be avoid if they use right materials. Public must help the fire vehicles to go fast and to do their duty properly. Good job by great brave men.
