Air India Express adds Additional Flight from Abu Dhabi to Mangalore

Abu Dhabi, Feb 13th, 2011 (WAM) :  Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Air India Express announced today the addition of two new flights for the airline from Abu Dhabi International Airport, starting tomorrow.

Air India Express will add one weekly flight to its Mangalore - Abu Dhabi route and another weekly flight to the Amritsar - Abu Dhabi route. This frequency increase will bring the total flights of Air India Express at Abu Dhabi International Airport to 32 weekly flights servicing 7 destinations in India.

The decision to increase frequency came as a response to the growing demand that the market is witnessing for more flights to and from the Indian Subcontinent. During 2010, passenger traffic on the Indian market recorded an increase of 18 per cent over 2009.

Ahmed Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President of Airports Operations at ADAC said: "We are delighted to see that our airline partners are expanding their services to meet our passengers growing demand. At ADAC, we continuously support such initiatives, which assist us in offering our customers with more choices, and putting us a step forward towards our goal in becoming a leading world class airport."

Harjeet Sawhney, Manager of Air India Express in Abu Dhabi '&' Al Ain commented: "Air India Express is pleased to announce this increase in frequency on the two routes: Mangalore - Abu Dhabi and Amritsar - Abu Dhabi, which reflects our confidence in the Abu Dhabi market and the level of services been made available to us by Abu Dhabi Airports Company."

Air India Express will be operating a state-of the-art B737 aircraft departing from Abu Dhabi to Mangalore every Monday at 4:45 pm local time to arrive to Mangalore Airport at 9:50 pm local time, and for Amritsar every Tuesday departing from Abu Dhabi at 17:45 local time to arrive to Amritsar Airport at 23:15 local time. The aircraft will offer both business and economy class services.

AIE's in-flight service is pathetic. They serve upmas & dal rice as if it is a govt hospital. People are fed up with the carrier,s service. It's high time other airlines like Kingfisher or jet airways are introduced

What about Mysore to Dubai direct flight ? Praful Patel has specially mentioned about this sector. By having this sector operational people around Mysore, Coorg and parts of northern kerala will benefit a lot. Daijiworld appreciate if you could take this matter with Civil Avaiation Ministry, Mr.S.M.Krishna (External Affairs Minister) and Mr.Veerappa Moily ( Law Minister).

    No use !!

I just returned to Abu Dhabi from Bangalore on Saturday morning by Etihad. I was served good dinner (in fact Chicken Biryani) while on the way to Bangalore and a good breakfast (Idli Sambar) on my return flight with unlimited beverages. The staff were friendly and I had my own personal TV screen with many choices of movies, dramas, documentary etc. etc - all for AED 1445 only. But what I paid for Air India Express is AED 1900 for a piece of cake and juice - No free beverages, no free handsets for a movie and unfriendly staff !!
