Dear Lidwin its a wrong statement by you, please don't be judgmental and pass comments. Its true that the young singers organize nites and ask for sponsors, appealing to sponsors is inevitable to them, if they don't then how do they promote their music?? and how do you/we know that they are the future of konkani music?? even after this i don't think anybody has made money out of it except earning some name but the fact is that its very difficult to find sponsors and hence most of the upcoming singers give up and disappear after one or two attempts,If it was the case no one would have given up when there was easy money and name, sometimes its like begging for sponsors It was the same with me too,I have the experience of this and finally gave up and left to gulf for better, If it was easy to find sponsors I would have continued in music(it might be a exception with one or two elder composers that too after all their hard work)Only a very few new singers struggle and manage to succeed despite all the odds and they too have to do some other than music for their living so lets support these youngsters whom you consider has the future of konkani music. My appeal to all konkani music lovers here is that instead of only commenting and complementing plz do buy original albums/tickets of the show and support the artist which would be a true contribution from us to our musicians.

Dear Lidwin. if it is so easy to hook gulf sponsors then you kindly try iy once and let me know about it. Its a fact that konkani music can give you a liitle name about not money and living, so upcoming composers please keep in mind you may be the future of konkani music as said by readers here but certainly there is no future to you if you stick only to konkani music. Its just impossible to earn money in konkani music. Dear Lidwin please don't generalize your statement there might be some exceptions but its a fact that its not possible to anybody to make money out of it. Its not easy as making a comment here, it requires lot of hard work and dedication and yet its difficult to get through so please don't make general statements for everybody.

Dear James,Melwyn Peris and Claud Wilson are just following the Late
    Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus.Where
as Kevin Misquith,Vijay Vas and Robin Sequeira are the new generation. You are unaware of Konkani singers. They organise a musical show and hook many Gulf sponsors.I dont think any Konkani
    singer is financially unsound.

Yes Mr. Medis I agree with you no argument, but again you are making a comparison on basis of the lyrics again as far as i know the lyrics are in no way less than that of the senior composers, they might be of different blend but they are qualitative, There were young composers in this show who had won awards for the quality of lyrics,The young composers/singers are not only good in their performance but also in lyrics and composition, you yourself have said its not a comparison but a general statement about konkani music world. Which is not correct please don't generalize the composers/singers everybody has their distinct quality and idenity, its not necessary that the young follow the old, they can do it in their own way. Both the young and old composers are equally important for the growth of konkani music, its very important that each composers have their unique creativity of composing songs, if all follow the seniors our music will end up being monotonous.

Mr. Sachin, Vamanjoor, Please read my previous comment and try to understand it properly. I never said Kavin or Vijay has not sung well. I have clearly mentioned in my previous comment that all singers have sung well and it was a great show. When I compared few old composers with new, I was speaking about the Konkani music world in general.

I never compared the artist of this show, for example Melvin Peris & Claud D’souza were not at all in this show. If Konkani music should be alive the quality of lyrics is very important. If you say the new artists are good on the stage performance, this will not help the konkani music to keep alive.

Stage performance is just for 3-4hours and moreover after few days/months people will forget about the stage show. Whereas a good song with meaningful lyrics will be always be evergreen, and will keep Konkani music alive as well, lyrics of a song plays a major role then the stage performance to keep our Konkani language alive. If today our Konkan Kogul Late. Wilfy Rebimbus is still alive in everybody’s hearts it’s only because of his quality of lyrics.

Ms. Lidwin Pinto would like to correct you for one of your sentence, please do not say the senior artist have made money, they might have made name for their talent but not money. No artist in Konkani has made money in Konkani including the top composer. They have given their life to Konkani but didn’t make money.

It was a really good show indeed. In the past two GOVM's vamanjoorians have played a significant roles and won the tittles in both editions. Efforts should have been made to get them on stage to give their quality and beautiful singing as i have witnessed both of their performances in Kuwait. For me they are best singers after Dr Prashanth Raj in Vamanjoor.

yes 100% Lidwin, their performances were superb, specially Kevin Misquith the way he sang it was too professional not less than any hindi singer although I have very little knowledge to judge anybodys singing but when it comes to performance he was far better than others, his stage behaviour was that of a professional and no need to say about the singing it was in no way less than other performers, all the singers were good in their own style so lets not compare them, but Kevin was outstanding!! I also had seen his performance recently in Kalangann it was good, keep Rocking!!

Mr. James Mendis it would be better if you don't make comparison between any two or more aritst, as far as i know the quality of young composers is in no way less than of the elders infact they have improved a lot from the elder compsers, this is not comparison its evolution so please dont do the comparision, and indeed it was a great show by team imperialz, here i would like to bring intonotice again that the performance of the young singers was far better, because when it come on stage its not only the voice that counts but also the performance, songs like He Jeen by Kevin, Sawpnath etai and Masti by Vijay vas and also Robis singing was superb and show stealng, altogether a great show no comparisons please...

It was a great show, nice to see most of the leading singers on one stage. To bring up our Konkani music, composers like Wilson Olivera, Melvin Peris & Claud D’Souza should play a major role these are the 3 great composers in Konkani at presents who maintain good quality in the lyrics and come up with new compositions. This does not mean others are bad, but most of the new composers should work hard to maintain the quality in lyric. When Dr. Prashanth Raj sang “Maria”, it reminded Wilfy and when Wilson Olivera Sang “Tuvem Gaitan”, we felt Wilfy Rebimbus’s voice is still alive. All Singers have sang well, enjoyed the music. Hats off Team "IMPERIALZ
