Mangalore: White Doves Presents ‘Jeevanth Santhin' in Honour of Mother Teresa

Mangalore, Feb 13: White Doves, a city-based NGO that provides shelter for homeless destitutes, staged 'Jeevanth Santhin,' Konkani sound and light show on the life of Mother Teresa by playwright Arthur Rasuinha at St Agnes Special School grounds, here on Sunday February 13 evening.

The programme was staged to mark Mother Teresa’s birth anniversary. The show was directed by Arthur Rasquinha and enacted by 80 artistes.
 
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the programme.








































Fr Peter Noronha, parish priest of St Sebastian parish, Bendore inaugurated the show by releasing doves on the occasion.
 
Globe Travels proprietor William D’Souza, philanthropist Ronald Colaco’s representative Austin Peres, builder Lancy Mascarenhas and Mother Teresa’s Convent superior Sr Maria were the chief guests.
 
Sr Maria released a CD of devotional music by Arthur Rasquinha on the occasion.
 
White Doves founder president Corrine Rasquinha felicitated Arthur Rasquinha.
 
Corinne Rasquinha welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Rosario High School headmaster Aloysius D’Souza compered the programme.
 
Over 2,000 people gathered at the venue to witness the programme.

    You are mistaken it was not Bishop acting, he was giving a small speech , he did not act.
    But the play was very good.

    some secens are so much touching to the heart.
    i really liked it. But i feel sad i couldnot see the last secene because of the time ...and distance.....

    Blessed Mother will always watch over Mangalore for our daily peace, safety, survival and much more. Few weeks before her death she visited Mangalore when she did not get a visa for a long desired visit to China.

    Sr.Olivia of St.Agnes College will be a great testimony for Mother Theresa's love and concern for Mangalore because Sr.Olivia accommodated Mother Theresa in her little bed room when she made an unexpected visit to Mangalore instead of going to China. Mother Theresa even forgot to inform Sr.Olivia that heading towards Mangalore insrtead of China.

    Mother Theresa's greatness in the humanitarian causes is highly admired in America. When the Governor of New York gave her a large mansion at Manhattan she told Governor Mario Komo that she does not belong to Manhattan but her place is in the Ghettos of New York. When our nephew visited New York for a brain surgery he had a letter from Mother Theresa with him and that letter gave him a complete free medical treatment at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York with the best of attention.

    May the blessings of Mother Theresa continue to shower upon Mangalore at all times.

Every day, pilgrims from India and around the world come to pray at her tomb, and many more follow her example of humble service of love to the most needy, beginning in their own families."

    In 2001, on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, officials closed the diocesan inquiry into Mother Teresa's sanctity. The yearlong gathering of testimony from those who knew Mother Teresa was the first major step in a typically long process. A year earlier, at an August 26, 2000, celebration in Calcutta marking Mother Teresa's birth anniversary, Hindu, Sikh and Muslim admirers joined in common prayers for her speedy canonization.

    What we need in todays world is LOVE.
