Madikeri: Couple clash ends in wife’s death – Two kids orphaned

Madikeri, May 1: In a heart wrenching incident that is reported from Kakotuparambu Nalkeri village of south Kodagu, a two-and-a-half year old boy and a six-month old girl were orphaned as their father killed their mother over an argument.

Sumithra (25), who was residing in a farm house was killed by her husband Chomacchira Lava. Lava attacked her with an iron rod on Friday night and slept in another room. When other labourers checked in the morning, they found that Sumithra was dead and on questioning Lava, he confessed to the crime.

Police arrested Lava, leaving behind the two toddlers, who are orphaned by the act of their father.

SP Aiyappa, Virajpet DySP Gajendra Prasad, CI Shiva Rudrappa, rural station PSI Siddalinga visited the spot and are investigating further.

    Joseph Egbert and Ina Mangalore ,Yes you blame the woman ,as usual,but is there any need to hit the woman with Iron rod and go and sleep in next room.?I am sure that little 6months old child cried in between ,that also never made him to see what was wrong there till next day neighbours came ?That itself shows how hard he is towards family.Alcohol strength?Mostly when alcohol in stomach is ,then they are kings and woman has to do what they say ?Sorry ,both children are become now orphans .How htey will be treated in future by others without parents is really to be thought.Father may come out of jail or not a question noone can answer ,Even when he comes out children may recognize him?Or he cares?remembers them ?
