Dubai: Alfred D'Souza Elected New President of Sakath UAE

Dubai, Feb 14: Thottam parishioners spread around UAE elected new office bearers recently. Alfred D'Souza, an entrepreneur and senior member of the organization, was elected as the president of the organization for the year 2010 - 2011


The annual general body meeting of the organization was held to elect the new committee members for year 2011. 
 
Sakath’s outgoing president, William Rodrigues, thanked the members for their support during his stint as the organization’s president. General secretary, Precilla D’Souza, gave details about the functioning and achievements of Sakath during the last four years.  Treasurer, Frank Fernandes, gave a brief account of Sakath’s financial activities for year 2010-11.



The new committee members elected for 2011 are:

Sports secretary:           Ravi Almeida
Jt Sports secretary:       Pascal Colaco
Jt Sports Secretary:       Ronald D'Almeida
Web developer:             Sunil D’Souza
Asst web developer:      Greta D’Souza (Sandesh section)
Asst web developer:      Reena Almeida (local news)
Liturgy:                         Nelson Vaz
PRO:                             Clifford D’Souza and  Agnel D’Souza.

Officers-in-charge:  Clarence Fernandes, Archibald Braganza, and Rohit Almeida.

The newly elected president, Alfred D'Souza, spoke about giving importance to the coming together of all the parishioners of Thottam for the growth of Sakath, and asked members to be more active and get voluntarily involved with all its activities. He especially wanted the new generation, which has new ideas and is fresh in its approach, to come forward to serve the organization. He assured all the parishioners that he is determined to make his tenure a memorable one.
