Bengaluru, May 4: The meteorological department said that April 2022 was the month that recorded highest temperature in 122 years.
The details were given by Mritunjaya Mohapathra, director of Indian Meteorological Department. He said that in the month of May, except a few zones like the Western Ghats of south, most of the part of the country will have high mercury even during night.
In the month of May, the average rainfall will be more than usual. However, in north east and north west region of the country it will be less than normal.
In Karnataka, temperature is rising steeply. The temperature is more than 30 deg C in most of the states. The highest temperature in the state of 37 deg C is recorded in Raichur.
Bengaluru recorded high of 32 and low of 19 deg C while HAL recorded 32.5 and 17.6, Bengaluru city recorded 33.6 and 18.6 deg C.
Honnavar recorded highest of 33.8 and lowest of 21.3 while the corresponding figures for Karwar was 36.2 and 23.1, Shirali 36.2 and 19.8, Mangaluru airport 33.9 and 23.8, Panambur 35.2 and 23.5 deg C.
