Mangalore, Feb 16: India’s most admired woman Dr Kiran Bedi, Rtd. IPS Officer and Social Reformer said that in the present generation people are made educated, but they have been cheated by the vicious circle of corruption in the system. She called upon the young minds to keep a track upon as to what is happening in the chain of governance system through being knowledgeable.

She was delivering her key note address at the valedictory function of ‘Memorabilia 2011, a three day intercollegiate state level fest organized by Mangalore Business School at T M A Pai Convention Centre, Kodialbail, on Wednesday February 16.

Further speaking she said implementing stringent provisions in the Lokpal Bill needs to be stressed as corruption can't be dealt with feeble laws. The Government’s plan of bringing the Lokpal bill this year is again apparently weak. She pointed out the loopholes in the present set of laws. As part of significant step in attacking the specter of corruption in India, movements of several concerned citizens of India who have come together through the website www.indiaagainstcorruption.org have demanded for a tough law to fight against corruption.

She said that desire, dream, dedication and discipline only can make the individual what he wants to be in life. Democracy does not mean going to franchise the vote once in five years, and to be silent forever, she pointed out and said one has to raise his voice when injustice has been witnessed in the governance system.

She launched a new movement and termed it as MAC stands for ‘Mangaloreans Against Corruption’, and called upon the students to be aware of their rights in the country.

Tallam Venkatesh, former president of federation of Karnataka state chamber of commerce and industry and K Laxminarayana, group general manager, ONGC-MRPL also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Kripa Amar Alva, chairperson, B Amar Alva Trust welcomed the gathering. Swetha Pai, principal delivered vote of thanks.

As many as twenty colleges took part in this three day management fest. Daijiworld was the media partner of this function.

Kiran Bedi,Rebeiro are among the honest officals India has seen, she has lot of credit for her straight forward, courageous leadership, one must respect her veiws, her vision is well concerned one for the nations growth.Curbing corruption, raising voice against corruption are need of the hour, Let her support the Lokayuktha in dealing with the corrupt n the state.Lokayuktha doesnt do its job fairly, they for the sake of survival bring one or two case in a month, give utmost publicity & then disappear,no follow up whatsoever.Public must pressurise the Lokayuktha to use their power ,publish the actions what they have taken to punish the guilty.

corruption is the root of all evil. great steps taken by Kiran Bedi to build awareness amongst youngesters..to become Iron Lady she has also suffered lot in life had two marriages. Women and Men should learn from each other about the positive qualities. If men have the three Ms–money, mobility and muscle...then women have three Hs–humanity, healing touch and heart.

She didn't seen police service as only a punitive career….in fact it stands for social welfare…this shows her commitment to her objective in public life… always of course with honesty! For which she was always known for…also in her programme on live media “hamaari adalat” she is doing her duty to society with honesty ….and honestly…..!!!one of my best favourite programme..family building and not like other soap opera..family dividing..

During her career with traffic dept of delhi police …she once lifted and challanged the car of nobody else …but the prime minister of India Mrs Indira Gandhi…! One can see the courage and confidence kiran had in herself and her actions…… !After that she has fondly called by "Crane Bedi"..All should be treated equal.

As a Jail supt. by giving a new lease of life to convicts through meditation and spiritualism …..following the footsteps of great saint Mahatma Gandhi….who always said …hate the bad element in a criminal don’t hate the person in him….bring out the human in him ….and you will change his life…!!!

Good inspiration we need such people for today's world..Jai Ho..

The eradication of corruption has come out from the mouth of a Lioness whose message in Mangalore should be taken seriously by each and everyone. Corruption is a cancerous symptom for a country such as India where rich people can exploit the poor people easily. When rich is becoming richer and the poor is getting poorer, the eventual consequences in India could be disastrous. Thank you, Kiran Bedi for your timely and thoughtful message that is loud and clear and we have heard them succinctly and clearly.

While education is spreading so rapidly and successfully all over India, our economic pattern must change gradually with opportunity for more jobs with better standard of life. Corruption will encourage the corrupt people to conceal the money and curtail the growth that will hinder the progress for mankind.

Democratic India with secular values with population and education will flourish so well if we can refrain from corruptive measures. Open minded and courageous messages such as from Kiran Bedi should be applauded with both hands and with a warm heart so that India will move forward with progress and prosperity.

It is always wonderful to hear about Kiran Bedi. It would have been wonderful if like minded people started a new party altogether and i would not be surprised if she would be voted into PM office. However, there is vision to have corruption-free India but lack of will from every single Indian. There needs a clear initiative to form a party that will only fight corruption in the country which is now so rampant and the laws so weak to charge the corrupt.
@ Igstor: I completely agree with you and people like us who honor the corrupt people that you mentioned in your message by inviting them to be resource people for events and the same corrupt people speaking against corruption. I must say, with regards to land-grabbing, you made quite an observation there. Such people shouldn't be allowed to share the dais with likes of Kiran Bedi who has always stood for values and ethics.

Features of Good politicians and Good reformers:
    1. Fighting against corruption rather than Shelthering them
2.Visiting TO the Colleges/Poor people's houses rather than visiting to the temple's to the god's place that God knows IN and OUT about the his visitors.
3.Spending less money for their publicity
4.Treating everyone in equal scale rather than dividing them based on their religion.

DO WE FEEL THAT IN KARNATAKA FROM PAST 2 YEARS???

Hon. Kiran bedi, Good to hear from you.
You know how the Corrupt politicians and the/ Justice system treated you.We have the most corrupt justice system in the world. We remember how you fought against the CM/IG and courts in Delhi.MAC is a good start. We R all with you.We need a honest police officer like you in Mangalore.
G.M of ONGC/MRPL Laxminarayana, knows very well how ONGC grabed farming land from poor farmers, promissing Jobs to displaced people of Mangalore. How many Mangaloreans got jobs ? How many Displaced people got compansation without bribing ? What about Mr. Pathrao's agricultural land grabed by MRPL and fight is still going on. KDIAB thugs Assulted his elderly Mother and family members, distroyed their house, robed their livelyhood, robed their belongings and valuables and filed falls criminal charges against them them? Laxminarayan is responsible for this. If he is honest, he should support Pathrao and his elderly mother and all the mothers of displaced people.and pay market rate for the land grabed. ONGC is involved in this criminal episode.?

No Corruption in ONGC Projects ? How many Corrupt projects KDIAB is involved and grabed agricultural land in Corrupt dealings and Mr. Vinay Hegde. Lokayuktha already arrested few of the corrupt officials. In the name of development Kdiab grabs poor peasants green land and pays peanuts to land owners and part of the compansation takes back as bribe.without bribing you dont even get peanuts for your fertile land.

An iron fisted Ex Police officer known for her strightworthy, strict,
honest and hardworking. When she towed an Number one minister's car in the no parking area of Delhi posh area, she came to lime light.Due to her strict following of rule of land she had more foes than friends in political circle. Therefore she was made to wander district to district and state to state for her posting. Finally she was made CEO of central jail in India (I Guess in UP)where she had made lot of changes in the jail's functions and features.Charles Shobharaj, the great escapee criminal jailer of international repute also acknowldged about Kiran Bedi's 'JAIL SUDHARANA'steps. In an one instant She had fought street fight with law breakers singlehandedly and that made her National Police Heroine. She was definitly an inspiration to youth of India in general and police force especialy female police force in particular. We,Indians proud of her.SHE HAD BEEN INVITED TO AN TEA PARTY @ WHITE HOUSE WITH PRESIDENT OF USA.
