Mangaluru/Udupi, May 7: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, May 7, reported two new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered one case.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,521 out of which seven are currently active.
The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
One corona case was reported on May 7, the total active Covid cases are one. Three patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.
A total of 10,83,906 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,42,818 have received both doses and 67,695 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
