Ad Wiz Sudham Mundkur Passes Away After Brief Illness

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 18: Sudham R Mundkur, Founder Executive and Creative Director of Magnum Intergrafiks, a leading national advertising agency, passed away in Mangalore yesterday night. He was 48.

Sudham, who died  following a brief illness hailed from Ullal-Someshwar in the outskirts of Mangalore city.  Born on September 13, 1962,  this master of conceptualization was a student of Bishop Cottons Boys School, Bangalore and St Aloysius College, Mangalore.  He was a multi talented personality, whose talents and abilities  in varied fields blossomed early in school and college days.   While excelling in education and creative activities, he did extremely well in sports too, representing Karnataka as a member of the State Students Hockey Team and Mangalore University in Hockey and Football.

Sudham graduated from Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA), Mysore, with a BFA degree in 1990. Later, he served as a member of CAVA’s visiting faculty. A simple, down to earth soul, Sudham shunned limelight and took a conscious decision to work from a smaller city, establishing an independent Design Studio - Intergrafiks in Mangalore.  In 1994, Intergrafiks merged with Magnum to become the current advertizing monolith Magnum Intergrafiks.

An expert in the field of advertizing, design, marketing strategies and brand building, Sudham has been associated with Magnum Intergrafiks since inception as its Founder Executive and Creative Director. His creations are to be found everywhere in and around Mangalore. He played a pivotal role in establishing Magnum Intergrafiks as a leading national advertizing agency of repute. His untimely demise has created a void the world of advertizing.

His last rites will be performed at the family residence in Saraswat Colony, Someshwar. The funeral cortege will proceed from the family home. He will be briefly kept at his Gandhinagar Park residence to enable his relatives, friends and members of the public to pay their respects from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, February 19, 2011 followed by cremation at Boloor Crematorium at 11 am.

Chairman of Magnum Intergrafiks Sudhir P Ghate,  Chairman of Mohtisham Complexes Pvt. Ltd Arshad,  Chancellor of Gulf Medical College Thumbay Moideen,  Founder of Ideal Ice Creams Prabhakar Kamath,  Herald Periera of Pragati Group,  and GRS Fantasy Park’s  Yogesh Dange are among the many who have expressed their shock and profound sadness at the unexpected demise of this gifted, humble, kind and soft-hearted personality.

A man who steered clear of praise and awards, Sudham leaves behind his parents, two elder brothers, sister, wife and two sons and a host of friends and well wishers. He will be profoundly missed.
