Mangaluru: Muslim Central Committee welcomes govt’s loudspeaker norms

Mangaluru, May 11: Muslim Central Committee president K S Mohammed Masood welcomed the government’s guidelines over usage of loudspeakers and said that they will follow the same.

Addressing media here on Wednesday May 11, Masood said, “We respect the government’s orders. As per the Supreme Court’s order, the five times Azaan at Jamia Masjid Kudroli will be completely stopped. The rest of the masjids we will follow the government’s order and the Azaan will be within the permitted decibel limits.”

Over Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik’s comment calling the Muslim community as terrorists, Masood said, “Actually Muthalik is a terrorist and should be sent to Pakistan. It is not Rama Sene, but Muthalik’s Ravana Sene. Muthalik entry was restricted in Udupi, but he was given a warm welcome by the police commissioner here which is condemnable.”

Vice president Ashraf, Mumtaz Ali, Basathangal and Puthuhaji were present.

    Thank you gentlemen ...we appreciate you.....Let every religious house follow this decision taken by this committee. When houses are full with faithful congregation, their participation/their voices are sufficient....Enough if its heard inside the campus......!!! ..No need of loud speakers

    Now it's the responsibility of the government to supply loudspeakers system to all religious places with seal that nobody can temper the systems. Government must set the system as per the supreme court's order.

    reduction in speaker's volume is most imminent so dat non- muslims sleep should not b disturbed. also da azaan caller should reduce his loud voice. most people have watched & mobiles 2 keep alarm 2 wake dem up 1nly 4 muslims. sleeping fellows should not b disturbed.

    The Supreme Court order pertaining to the use of sound amplifiers is applicable not only for Azan but also for weddings, festivals, sports, drama, yakshagana. Here, target is only Azan, But Azan will not take more than two minutes. Are they fully aware of the consequences? Most of the Yakshagana, Drama, Festivals takes place 10PM onwards. will they too follow this rule?

    No . It must be uniform for everyone . We as Indians support the common law for all public discipline. We are secular country and all places of public must practice secularism in it’s honest form. Religion can be practiced within four walls .. except the religous identity such as attire must be allowed.

    Dear Mohamed i fully agree with you. The law should be applicable for all the cases inlucing yakshagana, drama, stage show etc etc. Adaan is called 5 times a day and duration of each call is not for more than 2 to 3 mminuts whereas yakshagana is played whole night. I hope those people who sayu are disturbed by Adaan of 2 to 3 minutes will object on yalshagana and other issues also.

    All that ends well is welcome. Now it is turn of our Hindu community to reciprocate. No more mikes on tree top - keep it with in the premises. Moreover, Temple is supposed to be a very quite place and we have no requirement to call anyone to attend. I as an ardent devotee of Lord Eullooru Vishwanathatha , prefer to keep all religious activity within the prescient of Temple compound.
