Mangaluru, May 16: Ullal police arrested a man on the accusation of murdering his wife as it was proved during the post mortem of the deceased woman that she died because of heavy injury caused on her head by some object.
Joseph Francis (54), resident of Chethan Nagar, Kumpala is the accused arrested by the police. The deceased woman is identified as Shaima (44), a resident of Cochin of Kerala and wife of the alleged killer.

Ullal police had registered a case of mysterious death based on the report received from the hospital. Later it was revealed in the post mortem that an injury that is found on the head of the deceased was the cause for death.
Joseph had hit his wife on May 11 with a blunt object after an argument. He lied to the police that the deceased tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. Shaima who was grievously injured was admitted to private hospital of Deralakatte, where she succumbed to injuries.
Based on the post mortem report, Ullal police arrested the husband of the deceased and he confessed to the killing. Joseph is a contractor who constructs petrol bunks. He was in Kerala and had arrived to Kumpala just five days ago. The couple had argument over the matter of alcohol consumption and in a fit of rage, accused Joseph hit his wife Shaima.
The couple have two children who are studying in primary school.
