Kalpana Chawla's Biography Released


Chandigarh, Feb 23 (PTI) A biography of Kalpana Chawla, the India-born American astronaut who died in the Columbia space shuttle disaster, was released by her husband at a function here.

'Edge of Time', authored by the late astronaut's husband Jean Pierre Harrison, was released at a function held at the Punjab Engineering College University of Technology here, from where Kalpana passed out as an aeronautical engineer in 1982.

Before the release of the book yesterday, Harrison and Kalpana's sister, Anjali, presented a memoir of the astronaut's pictures depicting her life, from her childhood to the time she was in the Columbia space shuttle on her last journey.

Harrison also donated Kalpana's favourite books to the PECUT hostel library named after her.
