Bantwal, May 18: Town police station personnel arrested three people accused of stealing motorcycles. Two motorcycles and a car used by the accused for the thefts were seized.
The accused arrested are identified as Siddik (27) and Sameer (23) from Beltangady, and Akbar (32) from Bantwal.
The accused has stolen a motorcycle parked by Mukesh at Manihalla, Kasba on the roadside here on April 27. A case under IPC section 379 was registered at Bantwal town police station in this connection.
Similarly, they stole another motorcycle parked by a railway staff, Anoof, near Bantwal taluk B Muda railway station on April 23. A complaint in this connection was registered at Mangaluru railway police station.
The operation was conducted in the leadership of PSI Avinash and PSI Kalaimar by staff Narayana, Irshad P, Ganesh, Manohar, Praveen, Mohan, Nagaraj, computer section’s staff Sampath and Diwaker under directions from assistant SP Shibamsu Rajputh and police inspector Vivekanada under guidance from district SP and additional district SP.
