Mangaluru May 21: The two-day chocolate carnival NICO’s Chocolate Street was inaugurated by co-founder, Buttercream Co and partner of Pupkins Hospitality, Shriya Shetty at the Forum Fiza Mall here on Saturday, May 21.
Vice chancellor of Nitte, Prof Dr B Satheesh Kumar Bhandary said, "This event is an ideal way to promote communication school with creativity and get an idea of entrepreneurship."
This is the third edition of NICO’s (Nitte Institute of Communication) Chocolate Street, the only chocolate festival in the city that provides an opportunity to home bakers, chocolatiers and other entrepreneurs with a platform to produce and exhibit their special baking skills.
This event strives to promote local confectioneries in and around Mangaluru and help them to boost their brand and market value. A total of 30 bakers have set up stalls in the two-day chocolate carnival.
There will be an open mic for those interested in showcasing their talents. This will be a golden opportunity to exhibit skills in dance, singing, poetry, stand-up comedy, rap, beat boxing and mimicry. Two of the best performers of the day will be rewarded.
The event was conducted by the final year BA students of Nitte Institute of Communication as part of their curriculum.
Student coordinator Flan Sana D'Souza welcomed the gathering, Prithuma Monterio compered the event and faculty coordinator Prakash K proposed a vote of thanks.
Head of the institute Prof Ravi Raj, student coordinator Ankith Shetty and others were present.
