Mangalore: Stunning Display of Rescue Operations by Indian Coast Guard

Mangalore, Feb 26: It was a stunning demonstration by the Indian Coast Guard in the 16 nautical miles (about 30 km) away from the land.


The demonstration which involved various activities in the deep sea was organized as part of 34th day of anniversary celebrations on Saturday February 26.

Indian Coast Guard ships, Sangram, Savitri Bhai Phule participated in the demonstration.  Meanwhile, 'Chetak', the Indian fleet helicopter led the search and rescue operation.

Other displays included the pistol firing, light machine gun firing, heavy machine gun firing and overtaking of ships.

P S Jha, commandant, Coast Guard Karnataka Headquarters and other senior Coast Guard officers were present on the occasion. DC Subodh Yadav, commisioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and SP Subramanyeshwar Rao among others were present.

Over 100 government staff, family members of the Coast Guard personnel and media persons were present to witness the event.

    The Sad thing about our defense and other forces is that in a real emergency situation they need approval to do such activities which take long time, Bureaucracy and red tape is the biggest enemy of India growth Time take to send war ships to Libya 12 days, another 12 days for reaching there where are other country Navy/airforce has already evacuated people

    Highly appreciated the display of rescue operation by Indian coast guard. But our weakness is we are not recruiting right people in right place in all the fields.The person like GOPAL KARVY who swam with chained legs and hand back tied from St.Mary's Island to Malpe beach made impossible thing into possible with a adventurous task. The Daiji world Viewers through out the globe admired his talent and courage, such people should be given a opportunity in employing in this particular field
    by setting aside religion/cast/community barriers to move our nation towards path of success.
