Mangalorean Cornel Rodrigues Among Top 8 in 'Dance India Dance'

Mangalore, Feb 26 : Cornel Octavia Rodrigues (25), who hails from Jeppina Mogeru here, has already done the city proud by entering into the ‘Top 8’ position in the popular reality show Lux Dance India Dance(DID) Doubles along with his partner from Kolkata Sonali Kar(21).
The show is aired on Zee TV every Friday and Saturday from 9.30 pm. The audition round was conducted in the month of December 2010 after which the judges chose 12 pairs from a huge number of contestants. One of the pairs was that of Cornel and Sonali who have presented mind-blowing performances right from day one.
The pair impressed the judges with their dedication and commitment and have won the ‘Nano Best Performance of the Day’ title twice. Cornel and Sonali represent Geeta Ki Gang group.
Cornel Rodrigues belongs to Bajal parish. He pursued his education at St Aloysius College. Surprisingly, Cornel has not undergone any professional training in dance and learnt it himself by watching dance videos. He is currently residing in Mumbai.
Both Cornel and Sonali have reached this milestone with sheer hard work and passion. But what they require now is unstinted support from the public. Their further stay in the competition and hunt for the title is all dependent on public voting. So now it’s your turn to make the pair win the title which would be a proud moment for Mangaloreans.
