M’lore : Spirited Students Ardently Participate in Beary Talent Contest

Mangalore, Feb 27: Under the aegis of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy the district-level ‘Beary Talent Competitions’ for primary and high school students were held, at Town Hall here on Sunday February 27.

K T Shailaja Bhat, president of Zilla Panchayath inaugurated the contest. MLA U T Khader, Jurisdictional Block Education officer, Moses Jayashekar, president of DK Wakf Board Usman Haji and president of All India Beary Parishad, Abdul Majid Suralpady were the chief guests.
 
In all, competitions were held under 14 divisions like painting, elocution competitions, story telling, pick and speech, madarangi, skits, mimicry, discussions, essay writing, Kolata, quiz and poem writing.

As many as 650 students took part in the competitions.  M B Abdul Rehman, president of Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy presided over the programme. P Muhammud, Umarabba among members of the academy were present.
