Mangalore, Feb 27:
The discussion in favor of social change carried out by the students is a good development. Likewise students splurging in the fantasy world are dangerous. An initiation taken on this regard by the Campus Front of India to hold the conference under the promulgation of ‘Students for Social Change’ is commendable said Shivsunder, columnist and human right activist, while presenting his paper on ‘Six Decades of Indian Democracy’ at the first state level conference organized by Campus of Front of India at Nehru Maidan on Sunday February 27.

v

Speaking further he said the level of gap between rich and poor is in the ration of Rs 1 is to Rs 3000 which shows the deteriorated condition of our people. Poor are becoming poorer and rich are becoming richer. India never gained freedom. The freedom lies with the hands of only few people and the nation has become the asset of only few people. So even India has been waiting for ‘Tahir Square’ like movement since 1947, he asserted.

Advocate A Mohammed Yusuf, national president of CFI in his inaugural speech said that this ace conference of CFI which aims at change in society is an eye opener for student to know about their rights. The nation is in the evil clutches of ABVP and safronization and that should be changed into white which depicts peace and harmony. He also called upon to eradicate commercialization of education. Commending the move of CFI, he said CFI is the savior of campus rights, human rights and minority rights.

A mega rally was carried out in the afternoon from Pumpwell Circle to the Conference venue. Cultural activities were the part of Conference.

Mohammed Shakeer, president of Campus Front of India, Karnataka presided over the programme. Abdul Salam Puttige, editor of Vartha Bharathi, Pattabhiram Somayaji, lecturer in Mangalore University, K M Sharif, national chief secretary of PFI among others were present.

Abdul Rahiman, secretary of the committee welcomed the gathering. Imran Khan delivered vote of thanks. Nazeer and Abdul Raheem compered the programme.
