Bengaluru, May 25: Another recruitment-related scam has surfaced in the police department.
Seven persons have been accused of furnishing fake marks cards while applying for different posts in Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services (KSFES). A complaint has been filed in this regard by the deputy director of the KSFES T N Shivashankar.
A case on charges of cheating has been registered with Bharathinagar police station against D H Dharanappa (21), Vithol Ningappa (29), Moulasaab Shamyad (27), Eerappana Rudrodagi Neelappa (24), Mallappa Maruthi (27), Ramesh Halenooru Prabhakar (26) and Sharif Saab (26).

They found that all the seven accused persons had submitted fake SSLC marks cards.
The department had invited applications to recruit 1,222 firemen, 309 firemen drivers/mechanics and 36 fire station officers in 2020. The recruitment process was nearing completion and the fraud came to light when the officials were scanning documents provided by the applicants.
Bharathinagar police have ordered the applicants to visit the station with their marks cards to find out if they are fake or real.
