Dubai : Chandrashekar M Re-elected President of Billawa Balaga

Dubai, Mar 1: Billawa Balaga Dubai recently re-elected Chandrashekhar M as its president during the 2011 annual general body meeting at Winnys Restaurant, Karama, Dubai.

The new committee for the year 2011 is: 
 
Chandrashekar M (president)
Sudhir Sanil (vice president)
Ashok Bailur (general secretary)
Bhaskar R Poojary (joint secretary)
Prashant J Salian (treasurer)
Santosh (asst. treasurer)
Santosh Suvarna (event management secretary)
Ashwin Salian and Sudhir Sanil (media co-ordinators).

Bailur requested all community members to extend their full support and assured that the charity work will continue with the help of well-wishers and donors.

The meeting had earlier commenced with a short prayer, followed by condolences offered on the demise of Ummakka Poojary, grandmother of Sachin Raj Poojary, the event management co-ordinator for Billawa Balaga Dubai. Ummakka (89 years) was a well-known social worker.
 
During the meeting, all the activities and programmes conducted during 2010 culminating with the grand success of the Billawa Mahotsava 2010 were discussed. Special mention was made of the Abu Dhabi Billawa Sangha which was present for the function in large numbers. A list of the monetary contributions and donations by Billawa Balaga Dubai to organizations and needy individuals (over Rs 4, 00,000), the bulk of which was provided to people with critical medical needs, scholarship, and welfare of community back home was read out. 

Founder members of Billawa Balaga Dubai, Sudhakar Tumbe and Daya Kirodian, who were present, thanked the outgoing members for their enthusiasm and effort taken in ensuring the annual programme went smoothly with good reviews received from the community members who attended.
