Bantwal, May 26: An unidentified vehicle has hit and killed a pedestrian in Talapady beside Mangaluru – Bengaluru National Highway on Thursday, May 26.

The deceased has been identified as a daily wage construction labourer from Kerala, Rajamma (60).

She was walking by the roadside at Talapady near Kaikamba at about 11 AM on Thursday. She was critically injured in the accident and was shifted to Bantwal Government Hospital but she succumbed.

Melkar traffic SI Murthy visited the spot, registered a case and investigations are on to trace the hit-and-run accused.
