Kasargod, May 31: The Kasargod district sessions court has sentenced two men to life term imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 1.25 lacs on them in connection with the murder and robbery of a retired teacher, 65-year-old Janaki aka Janaki Teacher, a Chimeni Puliannur resident .
The sentence is pronounced against the first accused Puliannur, Chirikula resident Vishakh (27) and third accused Arun (30). The court has acquitted second accused Rinish (28) as the allegation against him was not proven. The court has ordered the handing over of fine amount to the family of Late Janaki.
The gang of masked men which had entered the residence of the deceased on the night of December 13, 2017 had murdered her by strangling her. Krishna, her husband who came rushing hearing the screams was inflicted injuries with a sharp weapon.

Two of the accused were Janaki teacher's students from Puliannur government school . The accused have confessed that they murdered Janaki teacher as they were scared that she would identify them.
They had sold the robbed gold at Payyanur, Kannur, Mangaluru etc. District public prosecutor K Dinesh Kumar argued for the prosecution.
Janaki teacher had retired after working as a teacher at Puliannur government school.
