Mangaluru/Udupi, May 31: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, May 31, reported four new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered zero cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,604 out of which 14 are currently active.
The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Nil corona cases were reported on May 31, the total active Covid cases are two. No patient was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
A total of 10,85,670 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,64,310 have received both doses and 72,187 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
