Beltangady, Jun 4: A banner is displayed on the road that leads to Sautadka temple at Kokkada by right-wing organisations Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagarana Vedike prohibiting auto rickshaws, taxis and other vehicles driven by non-Hindus.
The banner says, “As it has come to light that people of other religions have entered Sautadka temple premises, which is a holy place for Hindus and have enticed Hindu girls into Love Jihad and committed other atrocities. So all vehicles including auto rickshaws and taxis driven by non-Hindus are prohibited on the road leading to Sautadka temple.”
This developments comes in the wake of an autodriver from other religion marrying a Hindu girl who used to visit Sautadka temple frequently in his vehicle.
Social media is abuzz with this banner. Recently non-Hindus were banned from carrying out business at temple premises by the same organizations.
When the scribes asked about the banner with the administrative committee of the temple, they said, “A case of a Hindu girl devotee who used to visit the temple regularly of marrying a non-Hindu man has occurred. However, there is no relation between the banner that is displayed outside the temple by Hindu organizations and the temple administration.”
Kokkada panchayat, which came to know about the matter through social media, got one banner removed. No complaint is filed as of now.
Beltangady circle inspector Shivakumar, Dharmasthala SI Krishnakant, Kokkada PDO Deepak Raj visited the spot.
