Bangalore : Justice S R Nayak Condemns Black magic, Withcraft at Muslim Forum

Bangalore, Mar 8 : “So long as fear and insecurity is there in the minds of people, Black Magic and witchcraft will continue in society.  People indulge in black magic and witchcraft by exploiting the fear and insecurity that people go through” Justice S R Nayak, Chairman of the Karnataka Commission for Human Rights, told a large gathering of Muslims in Bangalore, March 6th.

Justice Nayak was presiding over a symposium organized to denounce Black magic and witchcraft against the recent reports of increasing human sacrifice, witchcraft, black magic and injustice to women in various parts of Karnataka and north India.  “All major world religions would never approve of such activity but there are people, who in the name of religion indulge in such activity.  Such activities will continue as long as people go through fear and insecurity.  Not just in India, but all across the world, there is a growing sense of fear and insecurity in the minds of people” he said.  Quoting Rousseau  he spoke of how man in ancient times, drank from running streams and ate the berries and fruits from trees, until man’s greed made him choose places for himself in the forests.

A book titled ‘Kala Jadu Aur Akse Jinn” in the urdu language authored by Mohammed Nadeem after seven years of research and analysis on the subject of black-magic and human sacrifice was released by Justice Nayak.  The book will shortly be translated in English and several Indian and Foreign languages. 

President of the Indian Catholic Press Association, Father Adolf Washington, addressing the gathering on the Christian and Biblical views on women, human sacrifice, black-magic and witchcraft said “The Church’s stiff resistance to euthanasia, abortion, and death sentence testifies that the Church is strongly pro-life and condemns any attempt to violate human life and dignity”.  Quoting the Old Testament, he said “Though God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Issac, He substituted Issac with a lamb for sacrifice, manifesting that He was against Human sacrifice, though it was prevalent at the time of Abraham. God the creator of human life will never sanction any act that violates human life”.  On the position of women in the Church, he said, centuries ago, nuns were restricted to minimal duties and ministries, but today, they are doing yeomen service to society, by running schools, colleges, health institutions and social service organizations.   “Canon Law gives women the right to form associations and participate in the administration of Church bodies. It is encouraging that women are serving in various Church organizations and Commissions” . The Church has also canonized several women.
